Galaxy-S6-and-S6-Edge-Nougat-update

Samsung just released the Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The rollout has begun in several European regions and several users have already updated their devices.

Now, we know, a lot of you people who haven’t received the OTA update will be wanting to try out the official Nougat update right this instance. Luckily, we have got our hands on the Odin flashable firmware for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Read: Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Nougat update rolling out

The Galaxy S6 Nougat update comes with build number G920FXXU5EQBG, whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge carries the build G925FXXU5EQBG. We have included download links for both the firmwares below. Make sure you download and flash the correct firmware or you might end up bricking your device.

Download Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Nougat update

Grab the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Nougat firmware from the download link below to manually install the update on your device using Odin software on your PC.

Update: The above firmware files are unbranded builds, so that this installs alright for you. We have removed the previous files, which were branded, as they were tied to carrier, and flashing them caused problems to some users. If you still have branded firmware, then rename the .tar.md5 file to .tar file, and then remove the hidden.img file form it, and then install using Odin. It would install branded firmware files alright. But you do not need to that with above firmware files, which are unbranded. For S6, it’s Open build for UAE, while for the S6 Edge, it’s open build for Europe. Open build means unbranded build, in case you’re wondering.

The OTA update zip isn’t available for download as of yet, but we’ll be sure to post it here as and when we get our hands on it. Meanwhile, we suggest you to install the update using the firmware file linked above. Our step-by-step guide will assist you throughout the process of installing the Nougat firmware manually on your device.

How to Install Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Nougat update firmware

 Download Odin 3.12.3

  1. Download Odin 3.12.3 .zip file and run/open Odin3 v3.12.3.exe file from the extracted files on your PC.
  2. Download the Nougat firmware for your device from the downloads section above, and unzip the .zip file to get .TAR.MD5 file.
  3. Enable OEM unlock on your phone:
    1. Go to Settings » About phone » and tap Build number seven times to enable Developer options.
    2. Go back to main Settings page, scroll to bottom and select Developer options from there.
    3. Under Developer options, look for Enable OEM unlock checkbox/toggle and enable it.
  4. Boot your device into Download mode:
    1. Switch off your device.
    2. Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
    3. Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
  5. Once your device is in download mode, connect it to the PC with a USB cable. The Odin window on PC should detect the device and show an “Added!!” message.
  6. Now click on the AP tab on Odin window and select the firmware file that we got in step 2 above.
└ Note: DON’T play with any other options on the Odin screen. You’re only required to connect your device and select the firmware file as instructed above.
  7. Click the Start button on Odin and wait for it to finish the process. Once it has finished successfully, you’ll see a pass message on the Odin screen.
  8. Your device will automatically reboot when Odin is done flashing. You can then disconnect your device.
└ It might take some time for the first boot after flashing a stock firmware.

That’s it. Android 7.0 Nougat firmware should be installed on your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge. Enjoy!

Galaxy S6 Edge update: Android 8.0 Oreo in plans? May patch available at Verizon variant

Galaxy-S6-Edge-Android-8.0-update

Update [February 10, 2018]: After numerous uncertainties over the status of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Oreo update, T-Mobile has finally confirmed that the OS will be rolled out to the 3-year old handset. The American carrier has updated its software update page for the Galaxy S6 Edge, indicating that it has agreed with Samsung to update the S6 Edge to Android Oreo, but we don’t know when the OS will start rolling out.

S6-Edge-Oreo

Update [ February 3, 2018] According to fresh developments, which do not come as a big surprise to us, the Galaxy S6 Edge won’t receive Oreo. Samsung reps have a tendency of not getting software updates’ details right and it seems this poor run won’t end anytime soon.

A leaked Galaxy Note 8 Oreo build was found to contain files with names of Samsung phones that will be updated to Android Oreo. On the list, there was no place for the Galaxy S6 Edge. Although some might feel a little hard done by this new development, which is not an official communication, it makes sense because the S6 Edge has already received two OS upgrades and will soon be three years old, which makes it ineligible for Android 8.0 OTA.

Update [January 16, 2018]: A new report indicates that Samsung might begin rolling out the Android 8.0 update for the Galaxy S6 as early as next month, February 2018.

Captu1111re

Update [November 27, 2017]: It seems we are in for a surprise! A good one, in case you’re wondering. A new rumor swirling around suggests that Samsung would bring a taste of Oreo to Galaxy S6 Edge as well, and might follow the three-year update cycle for major Android OS updates. Awesome! We weren’t expecting this, and going by past experience, we really thought Nougat OS was the best Galaxy S6 Edge users would get, but now it seems that Samsung could bestow the S6 Edge with Android 8.0 update as well.

Now that the Galaxy S6 Edge is more than two years old, it has reached the end of life stage. Which basically means that Samsung would not release an Oreo update for the Galaxy S6 Edge. Which also means that custom ROM is the only was S6 Edge users can get a taste of Android 8.0, this we would recommend you keeping a watch on our LineageOS 15.0 downloads page, as we do think that sometime later, an Oreo ROM would be available for the S6 Edge.

The whole Oreo scenario apart, this page gets you firmware download link of the major updates for the S6 Edge, along with info on what monthly security patch the given software update packs in.

Update [November 27, 2017]: New report suggests Samsung could bring Oreo to Galaxy S6 Edge as well, and might follow the three-year update cycle for major Android OS updates. Awesome! Although this comes from a chat with Samsung representatives, we would wait for something more official to believe it.

Usually, OEMs do not provide software update after 18 months for a device, or 24 months if the device we’re talking about is a flagship one, like the Galaxy S6 Edge here. But given the fact has S6 Edge is way older now, over the flagship eligibility period of the update too, it’s obvious from Samsung to not plan the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the device.

However, we do expect the usual security patches to roll out as an OTA monthly or bi-monthly, and a last big update to Android 7.1.1 sometime in October 2017.

Enjoy!

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has received two major OS upgrades following its debut with Lollipop back in 2015. With that said, there won’t be another OS upgrade for the S6 Active, including the latest Android 9 Pie update. For fans of custom ROMs, there isn’t so much out there, so don’t get your hopes high in regards to Pie ROMs.

We expect Samsung to keep rolling out the security patches on a monthly basis as an OTA.

While in case you were hoping for the Android 8.0 update via a custom ROM, well we don’t think that’s gonna happen either. We don’t think there will be a Galaxy S6 Active LineageOS 15.0 ROM, or any other Android 8.0 ROM, would become available anytime soon.

Model no. SM-A320Y

How to download correct firmware file

This is the important part!

Be sure to check and find the correct the model no. of your Galaxy A3 2017. Then based on your device’s model no., look for the appropriate firmware build from above.

You can identify the model no. using an app called Droid Info, or simply check it on its packaging box, or under Settings > About. Another solid trick would be to look at the packaging box of your device (in case you can’t power on the device because it is bricked).

Now that you know the model no., download the latest firmware from above for that model no. exactly.

Next, install the firmware on your Galaxy A3 2017 by following the guide linked right below.

How to Install Firmware

First, read our disclaimer, then take backup and then follow the guide below to install the firmware.

Disclaimer: Installing an official firmware through Odin doesn’t void your device’s warranty, but it remains an unofficial process and thus you need to be cautious of it. In any case, you only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components.

Backup, backup, backup! Create an appropriate backup of contacts, pictures, videos, songs and other important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have a backup of all your important files. Sometimes, firmware installation may delete everything on your device! Like, when you change the CSC of your device, knowingly or not.

Step-by-step Firmware Installation Guide

Let’s see how to install the firmware on your Galaxy A3 2017. Make sure you have more than 30% battery on your device.

Step 1. Make sure you have downloaded the correct firmware file on your PC. See above for how to download correct firmware file for your Galaxy A3 2017 and download links.

Step 2. Install Samsung USB driver (method 1 on the linked page) first of all. Double click the .exe file of drivers to begin the installation. (Not required if you have already done this.)

Step 3. Also, download Odin PC software (latest version).

Step 4. Extract the firmware file now. You can use a free software like 7-zip for this. Install 7-zip, then right click on firmware file and under 7-zip, select ‘Extract here’. You should get a file in .tar.md5 format now. (You may get 4 or more files, with AP, BL, CP or CSC etc. written at the beginning of those files.) We will be loading this file into Odin, to be installed on device (in step 10 below).

Step 5. Extract the Odin file. You should get the Odin exe file (other files could be hidden, hence not visible).

Step 6. Disconnect your Galaxy A3 2017 from PC if it is connected.

Step 7. Boot into download mode:

  • Power off your device. Wait for 6-7 seconds after screen goes off.
  • Press and hold the three buttons Volume down + Home + Power together until you see Warning screen.
  • Press Volume Up to continue to download mode.

Step 8. Double click on Odin .exe file (from step 5) to open the Odin window as shown below. Be careful with Odin, and do just as said to prevent problems.

Odin-3.10.6

Step 9. Connect your device now using USB cable. Odin should recognize your device. It’s a must. When it recognizes, you will see Added!! message appearing in the Log box in bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also show a no. and turn its background blue. Look at the pic below.

Odin-3.10.6-Added-message
  • You cannot proceed until you get the Added!! message, which confirms that Odin has recognized your device.
  • If you don’t get Added!! message, you need to install/re-install drivers again, and use the original cable that came with device. Mostly, drivers are the problem (look at step 2 above).
  • You can try different USB ports on your PC too.

Step 10. Load the firmware file into Odin. Click the AP button on Odin and the select the .tar.md5 file from above.

Load the firmware files(s) on your device. This depends on how many files you got in step 4 above upon extracting the firmware .zip file.

Case 1: If you got a single .tar/.tar.md5 file, then load this into AP tab of your Odin software. Then go to next step.

To load the file, click on AP tab, select the single firmware file starting with AP text, wait for it to load, and then skip to step 11, ignoring the rest of the part of this step.

Case 2: If you got more than one .tar/.tar.md5 file, then you must be having files starting with AP, CSC, Home_CSC, BL, CP, etc. stuff. In this case, choose the files as following. Select the firmware files as follows.

  • Click on BL tab, and select the file beginning with BL text.
  • Click on AP tab, and select the file beginning with AP text.
  • Click on CP tab, and select the file beginning with CP text.
  • [Different] Click on CSC tab, and select the file beginning with HOME_CSC text. If HOME_CSC file isn’t available, then select the file beginning with CSC text.

About CSC file: Using the HOME_CSC file won’t reset your device, and data on the phone shouldn’t be deleted. However, when we select regular CSC file, and it results in CSC on device being different than that in CSC file, your phone will be formatted automatically. You can even choose to ignore loading the CSC file, that may do alright too. But if it doesn’t works out, repeat the whole process and select CSC file this time around.

  • Info: When you load files, Odin checks the md5 of firmware file, which takes time. So, simply wait until that’s done and the firmware file is loaded. Don’t worry if Odin gets unresponsive for a while, it’s normal. Binary size will also show up in Odin.
Odin-3.10.6-Firmware-loaded-after-md5-check

Step 11. Click on Options tab, and make sure Re-partition check box is NOT selected. Don’t use PIT tab, ever.

Go back to Log tab now, as it will show the progress of firmware installation when you hit start button in next step.

Re-partition-Remains-Off

Step 12. Verify that everything is okay as mentioned above. When satisfied, click the Start button on Odin now to start flashing the firmware on your device.

Wait till installation is finished, after which your device will reboot automatically. You’ll get PASS message as shown below upon successful installation from Odin.

Odin-3.10.6-Pass-Message-Appears

Some errors you may run into, and with respective solution.

  • If Odin gets stuck at setup connection, then you need to do this all again. Disconnect your device, close Odin, boot device into download mode again, open Odin, and then select the file and flash it again as said above.
  • If you get FAIL in the top left box, then also you need to flash the file again as stated just above.

That’s it. Let device restart automatically.

First start of the device may take time, so wait patiently again. When it has, verify the installation. Check the Settings > About device, to confirm new build no. based on the firmware you just installed.

Need help? Sure let us know via comments below.

Firmware Benefits

You can use the firmware for variety of purposes, which includes:

  • Fix your Galaxy A3 2017 if it’s giving you force closes errors and restarts randomly.
  • Unbrick your Galaxy A3 2017 if it’s bootlooping and stuck at logo when restarting.
  • Go Back to Stock on your Galaxy A3 2017 — helps when looking to sell the device, or fix installing OTA updates if broken.
  • Restore Galaxy A3 2017 to factory state.
  • Upgrade your Galaxy A3 2017 to newer Android version.
  • Downgrade your Galaxy A3 2017 to lower build no. at same Android version.
  • Unroot your Galaxy A3 2017.
  • Remove custom recovery like TWRP and CWM, if installed, on your Galaxy A3 2017.

To perform any of the above, simply install the firmware meant for your device, as per its Galaxy A3 2017 firmware in Settings > About device.

p9-lite-Nougat-download

We’re no stranger to Huawei Nougat update, which is available for Honor 8 as beta, while has been released for some P9 users in Philippines. If you own a P9 Lite though, you can have a taste of Nougat sweetness too, as a firmware is available for download, which can be installed manually.

This is a beta version Nougat update for Huawei P9 Lite, though, that comes with a serious bug, wherein mobile data would automatically go off once you lock the screen off, and only a reboot would bring it back on. So, if you live in all-WiFi environment, this is good for you, otherwise not.

Also check out the Huawei Nougat roadmap, which contains list of devices from the company officially confirmed for Android 7.0 OTA. Howeverm separately company also confirmed it for the Honor 5X, for which you can download CM14 ROM too that is based on Android 7.0.

Here’s how to update your Huawei P9 Lite to Android 7.0 Nougat, on test build, using the firmware.

How to Install P9 Lite Nougat update

Step 1: Make sure you have TWRP recovery installed. Although this could work with stock recovery too, but TWRP is recommended.

Step 2: Download required files:

Step 3: Copy paste the two firmware files to your Huawei P9 Lite.

Step 4: Now, first of all unroot your device. You can use the Unroot option in SuperSU app. If your P9 Lite is not rooted, then skip this step of course.

Step 5: Reboot your device into TWRP recovery.

Step 6: Using the TWRP’s install menu, install the file with 1300MB in its name. You will get an error with this, but that’s fine. Don’t reboot your device, though. Do the next step.

Step 7: Now, install the other firmware file, with 684MB in its name, and wait till it’s done.

Step 8: Now restart your device using the Reboot menu.

That’s it, your P9 Lite now rocks Android Nougat, although on beta version with mobile data bug.

Galaxy S8 Firmware download: Android 8.0 Oreo available!

Galaxy-s8-images-IMG_9109

You will find the firmware for the Galaxy S8 smartphone here, including the new Android 8.0 Oreo update software version. Not only Oreo, we also have the Android 7.0 Nougat firmware available below, so in case you wish to downgrade from Oreo OTA to Nougat, just download the latest Android 7.0 firmware for your device (go by exact model no.) and install that, and then be sure to not update the device back to Oreo.

You have to install firmware meant for the exact model no. of your device, so check out that first before downloading the firmware. Check out the sections below to identify model no. of your handset, and a way to install the firmware given in the table below for various model no. of the S8.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Firmware

All the Galaxy S8 models in the US come with the same model no. now, but their firmware is available separately. But because their firmware is cross-compatible, meaning you can flash a firmware meant strictly for T-Mobile Galaxy S8 on AT&T S8, and that won’t cause any problem — your AT&T SIM would work just alright. Nonetheless, we have still segregated firmware for respective carrier models, because we can, and it feels safer too.

How to identify firmware exactly meant for your carrier in the USA?

Well, the US Galaxy S8 comes with model no. SM-G950U for all carriers (SM-G950U1 is an unlocked device), so you have to find the SM-G950U firmware that ends with the code of your carrier. The carrier codes are as follows:

  • ATT for AT&T Galaxy S8
  • SPR for Sprint Galaxy S8
  • TMB for T-Mobile Galaxy S8
  • VZW for Verizon Wireless Galaxy S8
  • USC for US Cellular Galaxy S8

Android 8.0 Oreo firmware

Yes, the Android 8.0 update is now available as firmware for the Galaxy S8. Check the model no. of your device first, and then download the latest Android 8.0 update firmware available in the table below for that exact model number.

It’s easy.

Firmware cross-compatibility

You can install any firmware for the model no. SM-G950U on your device as it doesn’t matter as long as the model no. remains same. It would fully work on your AT&T Galaxy S8.

Yes, this means that you can install a Verizon/T-Mobile S8 firmware on your AT&T S8, and vice versa. The only difference will be the extra apps (read: bloatware) that each carrier may out in or not put in, in which case, you are always better off AT&T firmware.

Galaxy S8 firmware download

The other firmware files are as per your device’s model no., as usual, so no code-finding-in-firmware-name-exercise required for models other than SM-G950U (US model).

Note: Do not install SM-G950U1 firmware on SM-G950U device, or vice-versa. Also, Canadian Galaxy S8 comes with model no. SM-G950W.

A proper AT&T S8 firmware, anyway! It’s common to not find a lot of firmware files for AT&T model of Samsung devices. Well, that’s the case with Samsung’s S8 too, and thus you won’t find a particular firmware for AT&T variant above, but we do have one firmware for the AT&T Galaxy S8, given below.

  • AT&T S8 only – version G950USQS1AQF7 – Android 7.0 Nougat – G950USQS1AQF7_ATT_ATT.zip
  • More firmware will be added here when available.
  • Of course, you can install T-Mobile or Verizon S8’s firmware on your AT&T S8. And vice versa.

Download the firmware as per your device’s model no. from below.

How to download the correct firmware file

This is an important part!

Be sure to check and find the correct model no. of your Galaxy A5. Then, based on your device’s model no., look for the appropriate firmware build from above.

You can identify the model no. using an app called Droid Info, or simply check it on its packaging box, or under Settings > About. Another solid trick would be to look at the packaging box of your device (in case you can’t power on the device because it is bricked).

Now that you know the model no., download the latest firmware from above for that model no. exactly.

Next, install the firmware on your Galaxy A5 by following the guide linked right below.

How to install a firmware

Let’s see how to install the firmware on your Galaxy A5. Make sure you have more than 30% battery on your device.

Step 1. Make sure you have downloaded the correct firmware file on your PC. See above for how to download correct firmware file for your Galaxy A5 and download links.

Step 2. Install Samsung USB driver (method 1 on the linked page) first of all. Double-click the .exe file of drivers to begin the installation.

(You may get 4 or more files, with AP, BL, CP or CSC etc. written at the beginning of those files.) We will be loading this file into Odin, to be installed on the device (in step 10 below).

Step 5. Extract the Odin file. You should get the Odin exe file (other files could be hidden, hence not visible).

Step 6. Disconnect your Galaxy A5 from PC if it is connected.

Step 7. Boot into download mode:

  • Power off your device. Wait for 6-7 seconds after screen goes off.
  • Press and hold the three buttons Volume down + Home + Power together until you see the Warning screen.
  • Press Volume Up to continue to download mode.

Step 8. Double click on Odin .exe file (from step 5) to open the Odin window as shown below. Be careful with Odin, and do just as said to prevent problems.

Odin-3.10.6

Step 9. Connect your device now using the USB cable. Odin should recognize your device. It’s a must. When it recognizes, you will see Added!! message appearing in the Log box in the bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also show a no. and turn its background blue. Look at the pic below.

Odin-3.10.6-Added-message
  • You cannot proceed until you get the Added!! message, which confirms that Odin has recognized your device.
  • If you don’t get Added!! message, you need to install/re-install drivers again, and use the original cable that came with the device.

Case 2: If you got more than one .tar/.tar.md5 file, then you must be having files starting with AP, CSC, Home_CSC, BL, CP, etc. stuff. In this case, choose the files as follows.

However, when we select regular CSC file, and it results in CSC on the device being different than that in CSC file, your phone will be formatted automatically. You can even choose to ignore loading the CSC file, that may do alright too. But if it doesn’t work out, repeat the whole process and select CSC file this time around.

Step 11. Click on Options tab, and make sure Re-partition checkbox is NOT selected. Don’t use PIT tab, ever.

Go back to Log tab now, as it will show the progress of firmware installation when you hit the start button in next step.

That’s it. Let the device restart automatically.

The first start of the device may take time, so wait patiently again. When it has, verify the installation. Check the Settings > About device, to confirm new build no. based on the firmware you just installed.

Need help? Be sure to let us know via comments below.

Firmware Benefits

You can use the firmware for a variety of purposes, which includes:

  • Fix your Galaxy A5 if it’s giving you force closes errors and restarts randomly.
  • Unbrick your Galaxy A5 if it’s bootlooping and stuck at logo when restarting.
  • Go Back to Stock on your Galaxy A5 — helps when looking to sell the device, or fix installing OTA updates if broken.
  • Restore Galaxy A5 to factory state.
  • Upgrade your Galaxy A5 to newer Android version.
  • Downgrade your Galaxy A5 to lower build no. at same Android version.
  • Unroot your Galaxy A5.
  • Remove custom recovery like TWRP and CWM, if installed, on your Galaxy A5.

To perform any of the above, simply install the firmware meant for your device, as per its Galaxy A5 firmware in Settings > About device.

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ Plus is a great device but in case it messes up, you can install the firmware file of the device — as particular to your S9+’s model no. BTW — to bring it back to stock.

This page is for bigger Galaxy S9+, while for the small-sized regular S9, check out our Galaxy S9 firmware page.

Here you will find the Galaxy S9+ firmware for download, with links that both fast and free. We would try to provide the latest firmware for as many variants of the Galaxy S9+ as possible, including the unlocked variant, or the locked ones in the US at Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, and others.

Our servers would provide you fast speeds, while the download is 100% free. You do not need to pay or subscribe to any premium plan for this.

In case you install TWRP on the Galaxy S9+ Plus, you can uninstall TWRP easily by flashing any firmware for your model no. of your device. Also, if you are looking to unroot your Galaxy S9+, then also simply installing a firmware meant for your device would do the trick.

How to identify firmware exactly meant for your carrier in the USA?

Well, the US Galaxy S9+ comes with model no. SM-G965U for all carriers (SM-G965U1 is an unlocked device), so you have to find the SM-G965U firmware that ends with the code of your carrier. The carrier codes are as follows:

  • ATT for AT&T Galaxy S9+
  • SPR for Sprint Galaxy S9+
  • TMB for T-Mobile Galaxy S9+
  • VZW for Verizon Wireless Galaxy S9+
  • USC for US Cellular Galaxy S9+

Firmware cross-compatibility

You can install any firmware for the model no. SM-G965U on your device as it doesn’t matter as long as the model no. remains same. It would fully work on your AT&T Galaxy S9+.

Yes, this means that you can install a Verizon/T-Mobile S9+ firmware on your AT&T S9+, and vice versa. The only difference will be the extra apps (read: bloatware) that each carrier may out in or not put in, in which case, you are always better off AT&T firmware.

Galaxy S9+ firmware download

The other firmware files are as per your device’s model no., as usual, so no code-finding-in-firmware-name-exercise required for models other than SM-G965U (US model).

Note: You can install SM-G965U1 firmware on an SM-G965U device, but not vice-versa. Also, Canadian Galaxy S9+ comes with model no. SM-G965W, not U.

One-UI-download-image2

Samsung began its beta testing for One UI based on Android Pie towards the end of last year and the company has now begun the rollout of the stable Pie update for the Galaxy S9/S9+ as well as the Galaxy Note 9; however, up until now the Android 9 firmware for the Galaxy Note 9 wasn’t available and users had to wait for the OTA update to get the update on their devices.

That changes today. Now, you can simply install one firmware file on your Note 9 to upgrade from Oreo to Android Pie — so this is now indeed as easy as Pie. No more the hassle of installing one particular Oreo firmware first, and then installing a series of Pie OTA updates to reach final stable build. One firmware flash would do now.

Related:

Well, Note 9 users can now rejoice since the Android 9 Pie firmware for the Galaxy Note 9 is now available and ready for users to download and install on their devices. The new update version is N960FXXU2CSA2 and is only for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960F) model.

This update also brings along the January security patch and comes with all the new features introduced with One UI. So if you’ve been waiting for the update for a long time, then you could simply download the Android Pie firmware for your Galaxy Note 9 from the link below.

Download Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie firmware (SM-G960F model only)

Note: Keep in mind that this firmware is only for the Exynos variant Galaxy Note 9 and isn’t for the Snapdragon models (U/U1/W). So, DO NOT try to install the firmware on Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy Note 9.

Latest news

February 22, 2019: Samsung today released its first Android 9 Pie update for the Galaxy A7 2018 edition. The update is available for the users in India, and it’s available as beta right now.

The Galaxy A7 2018 Pie update comes as software version ZSB4 (or A750FXXU1ZSB4 in full). We already knew that the Android Pie update for the device was around the corner thanks to its certification as given below, and today it so proved.

Galaxy-A7-2018-Android-Pie-beta

January 17, 2019: Having launched with Android Oreo, it was never in doubt that the Galaxy A7 2018 would receive an update to Android 9 Pie. A few weeks ago, the phone appeared on Geekbench running Pie and this week, the Wi-Fi Alliance has cleared model SM-A750FN running Pie, suggesting that the launch is near.

Of course, it will take several weeks before the final release of the OS following this certification. According to a recent Android 9 Pie release roadmap published in the Samsung Members app, the Galaxy A7 2018 should receive Pie in April 2019, which makes sense that the device has received WFA certification at this point in time.

Original article below:

We’ll talk the general software updates for the Galaxy A7 here, for the original edition to latest one, all A7 sets ever released by Samsung. And not only we’ll we talk about major OS upgrades, but we will also get you info about all software updates (with changelog), and along with firmware download links.

So, yeah, we have news about Pie update – you know, eligibility and expected release date – for the Galaxy A7 2015, Galaxy A7 2016, Galaxy A7 2017, and Galaxy A7 2018. Note that Samsung is yet to come out with its Pie plans, and we hope they do that pretty soon.

Having launched with Lollipop Android 5.1.1 installed, the Galaxy A5 2017 has been updated by Samsung to Marshmallow, and Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Getting two major Android updates is usually all that a device gets, so we would consider it End Of life situation for the A5 2016, and thus do not expect Samsung to release the Android 8.0 Oreo update for it.

Android 9 Pie update release status

Device Model Current OS Android 9 Pie update
Galaxy A7 2015 SM-A700 Android 6.0 Not eligible
Galaxy A7 2016 SM-A710 Android 7.0 Not eligible
Galaxy A7 2017 SM-A720 Android 8.0 May receive the update (See benchmark)
Galaxy A7 2018 SM-A750 Android 8.0 Eligible (may arrive in Q2 2019)

Except the newly launched Galaxy A7 2018 with a triple-camera setup at the back, none of the old crops of Galaxy A7 handsets will be receiving an official update to the new Android 9 Pie OS. For more, see our Samsung Android 9 Pie update plans story here. The A7 2018 has already been spotted in benchmarks with Pie running the show, suggesting that an update should be released soon after the S9, S9+ and Note 9, probably alongside the Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8.

The Galaxy A7 2017 has already been upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo, the second major OS update the device has received since its debut with Marshmallow. With that said, there won’t be a miraculous third major OS upgrade for the A7 2017, but if lucky, you may have to turn to custom ROMs in order to bring Pie to this device. Or maybe someone might just get lucky, at least if this benchmark is to be believed.

One-UI-update-download

Samsung One UI

Given that Samsung will be rolling out official Pie update to the Galaxy A7 2018, there is a small chance One UI could accompany the Pie update to this device. However, no official word is available at the moment for the device, but we won’t be surprised if it misses out on the One UI either because Samsung is no stranger to such stunts. It’s only a matter of time before we find out this, though.
